The State Statistics Service of Ukraine, NGO “Open Data Association” (ASVIDA) and YouControl signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on integrity and open data.

In July, an important event took place for strengthening the culture of integrity and developing open data in Ukraine — the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the NGO “Open Data Association” (ASVIDA) and YouControl signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
“For us, this cooperation is about values. We are building an ecosystem where a culture of integrity, critical thinking, fact-checking and data literacy are not an option, but the new norm. Trust begins with access to reliable information,” emphasized Nataliia Chornohub, Head of the NGO “Open Data Association”.
The Memorandum opens up opportunities for technical cooperation and the joint development of solutions that combine official statistics with YouControl’s analytical tools. The document provides for cooperation in the field of access to public information, the exchange of analytical resources and the study of experience in working with data sources, the holding of educational and communication events, as well as joint actions to minimize the risks of disinformation.
Artem Rudko, Deputy Head of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalization: “We see the Memorandum as an intention to join efforts in providing society with up-to-date, reliable and unbiased information. This partnership will develop our capacity to exchange data promptly and make statistics even more accessible and understandable to users. We are open to cooperation with those who seek to turn data sets into meaning and benefit for society.”
Danylo Hloba, Deputy Director of YouControl: “Data is our shared security. When everyone can check, compare and analyze, society becomes more resilient to manipulation. We are glad to be part of this partnership. Within the cooperation, the company will also share its experience and expertise with representatives of the public sector and civil society.”
[note] The tripartite partnership focuses on building a culture of integrity, developing data analysis and verification skills, and strengthening society’s ability to navigate the world of information.
